Renegades Family, The Rebels of the South, Brothers in arms...​

 

It has been yet another amazing chapter in our Orange story.  We have fought through rain and snow, through muddy fields of death and frozen battlegrounds of pain.  We have met our adversaries and met them eye to eye, never showing fear and never giving up no matter what the odds, no matter what stood in our way.  We played on through temperatures as low as minus two to scorching highs as...nine degrees, rarely complaining, often relishing.

 

We suffered the lows, and how we suffered...exiting two quarter final cups and dropping out of the title fight in a space of three weeks in February.  But what do we do when we fall off the horse?  We pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and get back on again.  And how we got back on... After our heartbreaking cup exits we won 9 of our last 12 games (75%).  It is a testament to our unique team spirit how we can bounce back through the worst of times.  No other team in the League let alone the Division can bounce back like we do, no other team can fight on to the final kick, no other team has produced come backs as regularly as us.  As our lionhearted captain reminds us "Renegades never say die".  We never have and by the will of the team we never will.

 

We ended the season today on a high with a resilient victory made all the more special by a visit from our first captain, the club legend but most importantly our very dear friend - Rob "Stinger" Watts, who in true Renegade fashion has bounced back and evidently recovering very quickly from his operation.  As men, we rarely show what we're thinking but I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say it was tremendous to see you up and about so soon and we look forward to seeing more of you come the start of the next season.  We are all behind you.

Through thick and thin, through the highs and lows, we are making history together.  A history that we can all be proud of for years to come.  I am proud to be involved with a group of men that are not my team mates but my friends.  You all bring something special to the table and I look forward to seeing you all once again in preparation of our 6th campaign together.

For now though enjoy the well deserved rest.  You have truly earned it.
